I hold a Certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography
and have studied in various seminars, workshops, short courses, and through self
study. In addition to photography, I hold a regular "day job" and own and operate a small farm in Two
Rivers, Alaska.
My vision of photography as art and of myself as an artist is constantly evolving. My friends
don't generally consider me an artist. I have no formal training in art. I'm sorely lacking in
the vocabulary to discuss art with other artists. I certainly don't make a living from my art.
Never the less, I'm actively and passionately involved in observing the world around
me, processing what I see through my inner distillery, and packaging my interpretation into
images that please me and touch others. Since I don't believe I could stop participating in
that process even if I wanted to, I'll continue to learn and practice my craft and, no doubt, the evolution of my art and my artist will
continue.
