Russell C. Writer (Aka Russell
Brennan) is now a multi platform artist. He is most famous as a
cult record producer with over 250 releases to his name and was
recently voted one of the top ten cutting edge/Innovative
producers of all time.
He had a cult act that was popular in the 80's in Europe called
Eleanor Rigby and as a songwriter was popular particularly in
Germany and Austria. It was with Eleanor Rigby that he first got
into doing photography and after doing a famous poster and Record
sleeve for Eleanor's 'Censorship' album release in 1987 people
were touting him as the new David Bailey.
Although he still did some photography and art over the years his
next famous photo was of Box Office Poison singer Misty Woods (Erotic
Girl with Cello) ten years later. After that many photo sessions
featuring Misty provided some new and stunning images marrying
Photography with computer art to create an new hybrid artform.
Quite a few ended up on record sleeves. Russell says his specialty
and favourite is erotic photos and art and in other photos
composition and unique ideas are his strong points. Russell's band
Box Office Poison also released what is considered the most erotic
and sexually changed music album ever made recently called 'Heavy
Breathing Decade.'. A concept album about erotica and different
aspects of sex. It is a stunning collection of songs with his
trade mark 'Pop Noir' production.
After this release at the turn of the new century Russell decided
the music business was becoming too boring and decided to
concentrate on photography and art for a while as well as writing
(He is already a published author of the book 'Music Business
Bastards).
Russell is always looking for interesting collaborations. He also
would like to do at least one unique calendar per year and have an
offline exhibition of his work and perhaps a book. you can email
